Village hall gets ADA facelift
Thanks to a state grant, the village hall, as the village in Perry Township only pulling place, sport a fully ADA – compliant entrance and parking space before the April 1 consolidated election.
Benton and associates engineering and Laverdiere construction are working on a very short timeline to complete the project, but Greg Hillis, BA project manager, has assured the village in township that the building will be fully accessible by election day.
Hillis said, "it may not be pretty, but it will be fully accessible."
The front entrance of the village hall will be under construction until election day, April 1. Villagers will be unable to access the dropbox at the Hall to pay village utility bills.
You can drop your payments at the post office across the street from the village hall. The dropbox will be clearly marked.
Payment deadlines are as follows:
Current month bill: 21st of current month.
Current month grace period (10% late fee) 22nd through the 10th.
Service cut off date for previous months unpaid bill 10th of current month
East Park construction bidding process starts March 4.
Greg Gillis, Benton and associates project managers, told the board at the February meeting at the pre-bid public meeting for bitters on the new East Park will be March 4 at 10 AM. Convening at the village hall. The bid opening will be March 25 at 2 PM at the village hall.
It was said if construction goes according to schedule more or less! At the park should be opened for use in late summer dash fall 2025, which was the target date started from the beginning in fall 2023
The village received the first half of the $600,000 OSLAD grant in November, with the second have to be paid on completion of the park.

Friday trash pick up begins March 7th.
